The problem
Most leadership teams believe their productivity (or OEE) in their facility is improving.
More often than not, it isn’t.
What’s actually happening is this:
Losses are being reclassified, hidden, or normalised—so the number looks better while performance stays flat.
The result?
- You think you’re improving
- You stop pushing
- You leave capacity (and revenue) on the table
Heres my experience recently –
“In one site, productivity was reported at 82%. After applying this check, true productivity was closer to 68%—but it exposed 12% recoverable capacity in under 3 weeks.”
